The patients and residents of Totally Kids Rehabilitation Hospital asked for opportunities to worship so we recently introduced a monthly church service in keeping with our family-centered care. Emmaus Redlands, a local congregation, volunteered to bring music, teaching, prayer, and fellowship time to our hospital campus in our Family Room.
The first church service was held in January. The kids loved being able to participate during the worship music time as they, their families, and our staff got to sing along. Justin Fones, from Emmaus Redlands, shared a message for the new year about our great hope and kicked off 2017 as a year for us to go through the Bible and learn more about that hope. Six Emmaus families came for the service and stayed for an hour afterwards getting to know our patients, families, and staff. Everyone was excited to make new friends, and have this time to worship and fellowship together.
Our next service is planned for Saturday, March 4th, at 2pm. Our patients\’ and residents\’ families are encouraged to join us. If this is something you are interested in, or would want your child to be a part of, please contact either Ryan or Valerie at Totally Kids for more info on consent forms and service times.
