At Totally Kids our focus is on ensuring that each child receives the treatment they need so they can return to home or school as soon as possible.
As part of our commitment to that quality care, Totally Kids participates in a federal program that measures our inpatient rehabilitation results. The program also determines the level of treatment success pediatric patients are experiencing at a given rehabilitation facility.
We just received our results for 2017 and, once again, Totally Kids received excellent scores compared to other facilities, both locally and nationally. These results show that our patients make better progress and have shorter lengths of stay.
As we all know, the goal of rehabilitation is to restore some or all of the capabilities a child may have lost due to illness or injury. Our WeeFIM* scores show that we are doing that better than other facilities.
What is WeeFIM? Wee means it’s for children. FIM stands for functional independence measure (how much assistance a child needs with normal activities of daily living).
What does this mean for our patients and their families? Quite simply, it means that if you’ve chosen Totally Kids, you’ve made the right choice. And if you’re trying to find the right place for your child, you can feel confident about choosing Totally Kids.
Since opening our doors in 1971, Totally Kids Rehabilitation Hospital has been committed to providing the best possible care. We take great pride in offering an excellent pediatric acute rehabilitation program.
* The WeeFIM Program is administered by the Uniform Data System for Medical Rehabilitation (UDSMR) for the U.S. Department of Education.
