A day at home

Transitioning back home is a significant milestone for any resident at Totally Kids, and for Marilyn, it’s a journey filled with exciting new experiences and meaningful moments. Recently, Marilyn had the chance to visit her home and spend a regular afternoon with her family. While she’s been home before and went back for a celebration, this was her first time seeing what a normal day would look like.

This outing wasn’t just a change of scenery—it was an opportunity for Marilyn to experience the routines of home and family life, and to see what life outside of Totally Kids will be like.

Watching Marilyn with her family at home was truly remarkable. They chatted, played, laughed, and caught up on all the little things they’ve missed sharing. The visit allowed Marilyn to embrace the joy of family connections and gave her a glimpse into the exciting new chapter she’s preparing to embark on this spring when she officially transitions home.

Outings like these are an essential part of the transition process. They help residents like Marilyn become familiar with their home environment and life beyond Totally Kids, while also giving families a chance to plan and adapt to the changes ahead.

We are incredibly proud of Marilyn’s progress and can’t wait to see her continue thriving as she gets closer to going home for good. Here’s to many more smiles, family bonding moments, and joyful memories as she transitions into life beyond TK!
