Marilyn’s Park Adventure with Family

This past weekend, Marilyn had a special home visit filled with fun, laughter, and adventure! Her family wanted to experience what it would be like to take her to the park—something they do often, especially since her siblings love playing soccer.

From the moment they arrived, Marilyn’s face lit up with excitement. She had an absolute blast playing outdoor games like kickball, feeling the fresh breeze, and riding down different slides with her family members. The joy on her face as she zipped down each slide was priceless! She also enjoyed a delicious lunch with pizza, eagerly trying out different options and discovering new favorites.

But this visit was more than just a fun outing—it was an important step in her transition home. It allowed her family to practice outings together, especially navigating her power wheelchair on grass, ensuring Marilyn is comfortable and included in the activities they love. Seeing her actively participate and enjoy the park reassured them that she’ll be able to join in on future family adventures.

These moments remind us why outings and home visits are so meaningful for our residents. They provide a sense of normalcy, connection, and the opportunity to create lasting memories with loved ones.

We can’t wait for more fun-filled days ahead for Marilyn and her family!
