Quality Start (http://www.qualitystartsbc.org/) is committed to supporting early childhood educators with resources and information that encourage continuous quality improvement in early learning programs. KidShip’s staff will now be able to avail themselves of:
- Professional coaching and development opportunities
- Customized plans to guide quality improvement effort
- Peer support network of early childhood educators committed to quality learning
- Resource grants for classroom materials, equipment and facility improvements
For parents, this means peace of mind in knowing that your child is enrolled in a program fully committed to quality. It’s about understanding what quality looks like in the form of appropriate teacher-to-child ratios; learning activities that support each child’s interests and development; safe, healthy and engaging environments; and a focus on overall child well-being. Research has shown that high quality early learning experiences prepare your child for success in kindergarten and beyond.
The Day Health program of Totally Kids, KidShip is a unique preschool program that brings medically fragile or developmentally delayed children together with kids without disabilities to play and learn in one supportive setting. It is the only pediatric day healthcare program in the Inland Empire that offers a full inclusion preschool program for typical and medically fragile children. KidShip is excited to be participating in “Quality Start,” a countywide initiative in San Bernardino designed to help local early care and education professionals provide the highest quality early learning experience possible.
