What is Circlebrook?
Circlebrook provides a temporary or permanent “home away from home” for children, from newborns to 21 years of age, who may be developmentally disabled or delayed and have a recurring but intermittent need for skilled nursing services. The physicians and staff within our friendly 15-bed facility are specially trained to care for the unique needs of these children and to help each child realize his or her personal goals.
The Children at Circlebrook
The children in Circlebrook may find it difficult to perform daily activities such as moving, learning and communicating and may require periodic nursing services to help them achieve their greatest potential. Our patients are both ambulatory and non-ambulatory with the most common medical conditions including:
- colostomy care
- gastrostomy tube care
- oxygen therapy
- basic respiratory care
- seizure disorder
- spasticity
- contractures
- oral & nasopharengeal suctioning
- diabetic care
- wound care
A Day at Circlebrook
At Circlebrook we develop an individual program plan that identifies each child’s developmental, social, behavioral, recreational, and physical needs. A typical care plan includes physical, speech and occupational therapy as well as age-appropriate school participation. Education programs are provided through the Redlands Unified School District for children who are medically stable and the Early Start program for children under the age of three. Families of our residents are highly encouraged to be involved in their child’s care, as well as participate in physician appointments, therapy sessions and outings such as trips to the park and zoo.

And they can feel comfort and trust in knowing that our specially-trained team of physicians, nurses, therapists and other caring staff who are uniquely knowledgeable in serving these special patients including those with multiple or complex medication regimens including assisting at mealtime with special feeding techniques if needed.
Admission into Circlebrook
Most Circlebrook patients are referred by the Inland Regional Center. These children receive MediCal can easily be admitted into our program. For children with private insurance, we attempt to obtain a letter of authorization from the insurance company for placement at Circlebrook
