Pumpkin Play for Bryan

Recently, Bryan had the best time exploring our pumpkin sensory activity with Kate from the Child Development Dept. The activity started with simple hands on exploration, letting him feel the different pumpkin textures and notice how each one felt a little different. But the real magic happened when he decided to scoop some into a sensory bag. With assistance, bag was brought up to his face and he instantly lit up. The cool, squishy texture against his skin had him smiling, laughing, and expressing pure joy.

Sensory play like this does so much more than keep residents engaged. It supports regulation, builds curiosity, encourages exploration, and creates meaningful moments of connection. And sometimes, like with Bryan, it also brings out the kind of joy that fills the whole room.

At Totally Kids, we celebrate these simple moments that spark happiness, confidence, and comfort.

Small moments, big smiles. Next up, Spa day with masks!
