Making Every Toss Count

Sometimes the biggest smiles come from the simplest activities.

During our Social Recreation Program, Bryan recently enjoyed a lively game of Water Pong with our Child Development team. The room was filled with laughter and encouragement as he took aim, celebrated each successful toss, and enjoyed a little friendly competition.

While Water Pong is a fun recreational activity, it also supports important developmental goals. As Bryan participated, he had opportunities to practice hand-eye coordination, upper extremity movement, motor planning, visual tracking, attention, and social interaction. Activities like these help strengthen functional skills while providing a motivating and enjoyable experience.

Our Social Recreation Program offers residents meaningful, age-appropriate recreational opportunities that support physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development. Every activity is thoughtfully adapted to each child’s abilities so they can experience success while continuing to build confidence.

Watching Bryan engage, smile, and celebrate each accomplishment is a reminder that progress can happen in many different ways. Sometimes it happens during therapy sessions, and sometimes it happens through the joy of play.

At Totally Kids Rehabilitation Hospital, we are proud to create opportunities where fun and rehabilitation come together, helping every child continue to learn, grow, and thrive.
