There are few moments more meaningful than celebrating a child who is ready to go home.
Recently, our team at Totally Kids Rehabilitation Hospital had the privilege of sending one of our incredible patients home. Bubbles filled the air, cheers echoed throughout the building, and there were plenty of smiles mixed with a few happy tears, especially from Mom.
Behind every discharge is a story of determination, resilience, and hope. It represents countless hours of training, therapy, compassionate nursing care, medical expertise, vencouragement from families, and the unwavering dedication of an entire interdisciplinary team working toward one shared goal: helping children heal, grow stronger, and return home.
Our bubble send-offs have become a special tradition at Totally Kids because they celebrate more than a discharge. They celebrate courage, perseverance, and the beginning of a new chapter. As our patients leave our doors, they take with them not only the skills and progress they have worked so hard to achieve, but also the love, encouragement, and support of an entire community that has been cheering them on every step of the way.
To our amazing patient and family, thank you for allowing us to be part of your journey. Watching you walk through our doors and head home is one of the greatest rewards we could ever receive.
