One More from the Heart – 2016
On Sunday, November 13th 2016, we had our 26th annual biker run event. Hundreds of bikers from all over Southern California gathered together to participate in the “One More From The Heart” run where the bikers fund-raise and donate gifts to the residents. Donations included clothes, toys, batteries, art supplies, DVDs, CDs, blankets, and other items that were on our wish list.
During the event, the bikers were able to meet the patients and staff here at TK. The interactions took place throughout the facility. Several bikers enjoyed helping the kids participate in activities and getting better acquainted with each resident. Food and refreshments were prepared and a special thank you goes out to Summer Adams, who ran the cotton candy and popcorn machine this year. It was a big hit!
Towards the end of the event, the bikers gathered outside where we thanked and recognized them for all their hard work and dedication. We also paid a tribute to all the Veterans in order of Veterans Day and said a quick prayer for all. The bikers then gave bike rides to some of the staff members before going on their mystery ride.
Everything the bikers donated goes directly to our residents and we cannot thank them enough for all that they do. We would also like to say a big thank you to ALL the departments and volunteers who worked together to help make this event a successful one.
