Row of Bikes at the Biker Run 2017

Annual Biker Run Draws Closer

We are thrilled and thankful to once again host the “One More From the Heart” Run on Sunday, November 11th, at Totally Kids Rehabilitation Hospital. For 28 years this event has been organized with heartfelt compassion by community volunteers who arrive at our facility bearing gifts and donations that bring smiles to our residents and help support some of our programs.

“One More From the Heart” began in 1990 as a small Harley run for donating toys to our subacute residents. It has grown into a huge event raising thousands of dollars each year. Last year more than 400 bikers participated, delivering gifts and spending time with our residents by reading, coloring or playing with blocks.

“This run is all about the kids,” says event organizer H.R. (short for Honda Ray). “There are no sign-in fees, run pins, t-shirts or celebrities. It is just a nice thing to do.”

The run will once again begin at Chopper Place in Riverside at 9:30 a.m. and will arrive at Totally Kids in Loma Linda at 10:45 a.m. By 11 a.m. our entire parking lot will be filled with motorcycles, although all vehicles are welcome.

“The generosity we see each year is just incredible,” says Pauline Hennessy, Vice President of Child Development, Education and Rehabilitation Services at Totally Kids. “Participants bring toys, clothing and electronics. Our multipurpose room is filled with donated items. The money they donate allows us to buy items for the kids that isn’t covered by insurance. It also funds outings for our residents to Disneyland and other places. Last year the money helped us remodel the children’s play area.”

“One More From the Heart” makes a huge difference in the lives of our residents. From the bottom of our hearts, “THANK YOU!” to everyone who helps make this event a success.
