Intermediate Care

Circlebrook is a Residential Intermediate Care Facility designed to be a temporary or permanent home away from home for medically fragile children, from newborns to 18 years of age. Children cared for at Circlebrook may be developmentally disabled or developmentally delayed. Within our friendly 15-bed facility are specially-trained physicians and staff who deliver specialized care and work with each child to realize their goals. Circlebrook provides 24-hour personal care, developmental services and nursing supervision. This staff is specially trained to care for special needs children with developmental disabilities.

Circlebrook's Residential Intermediate Care Facility differs from our Subacute Facility in several ways:

  • Circlebrook is a step down from Subacute care and the children staying here do not require around-the-clock ventilator support
  • Circlebrook patients are both ambulatory and non-ambulatory
  • Circlebrook patients need periodic nursing services, such as apnea monitoring, gastronomy feeding, oxygen therapy, BiPAP, CPAP, routine injections and catheterizations, among other services
  • Circlebrook can serve as a temporary living solution or a permanent one

Families choosing Circlebrook can rest assured that their child will enjoy education programs through the Redlands Unified School District while supervised by Totally Kids’ premier medical staff. Families of our residents are highly encouraged to be involved in their child's care, as well as participate in physician appointments, field trips and outings. Most Circlebrook patients are referred by the Inland Regional Center which, along with Circlebrook, provides supervision throughout their residency.
