Patients and staff recently welcomed back Scout and his owner, Jenn, for another enjoyable visit at Totally Kids.
Pet therapy visits are always a highlight, providing opportunities for patients to engage, connect, and participate in meaningful experiences outside of their daily routines. During this visit, one of our Acute Rehabilitation patients had the opportunity to work with our Recreational Therapist on sitting balance while interacting with Scout.
What may have looked like a simple visit was actually a fun and therapeutic experience. Scout’s presence helped motivate the patient to participate in an activity that supported rehabilitation goals while also providing encouragement, engagement, and enjoyment.
These moments demonstrate how therapeutic activities can be incorporated into positive and meaningful experiences. Whether patients are petting Scout, talking with Jenn, or simply enjoying the companionship of a friendly therapy dog, the impact can be significant.
At Totally Kids, we value opportunities that support both the physical and emotional well-being of our patients. Visits like these help create meaningful connections, encourage participation, and bring smiles throughout our facility.
Thank you to Jenn and Scout for sharing your time and compassion with our patients and staff. We always look forward to your visits!
