Easter 2016

On March 25, 2016, Totally Kids celebrated our annual Easter Party! Staff, families, and volunteers were all able to join in with our campus wide event, serving everyone that benefits from Totally Kids programs! This includes our preschoolers from KidShip, patients from our Acute program, and our residents in our subacute hospital who all spent the day participating in various activities provided by Totally Kids.

Activities included a visit by the Easter bunny, face painting, an Easter egg hunt, a visit with some animals in a petting zoo, pony rides, and of course, a delicious barbecue from our kitchen staff with the help of Phillip at the barbecue.

Everyone had fun walking around and exploring the activities. Events like these are beneficial in so many ways to the children here at Totally Kids. Developmentally, each activity provides many opportunities for growth. Our residents were able to work on gross motor movements as they explored each activity and took rides on ponies; fine motor skills while visiting with the animals and retrieving eggs; social skills and communication skills while interacting with others around them; emotional development as they were able to spend time with family and friends; and cognitive abilities as they searched for eggs and participated in all activities.

Thank you the all those who were able to attend, participate, and assist in this event. We appreciate the help we received and we cannot wait for our next event to see familiar and happy faces again!
